Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis) Care Guide

Exotic  |  Easy Care  |  Medium shrubs

The Indian hawthorn, particularly the 'Kruschenia' cultivar, is a dense, compact, evergreen shrub with thick, leathery, dark green leaves and clusters of pink flowers in spring.

Good to know

It is a solid, reliable hedging and border plant that handles coastal conditions, wind and salt air well. It has a naturally rounded, compact habit and rarely needs much pruning to stay tidy. It is not the most exciting plant in the garden, but it is dependable, always green, always neat, and does its job year after year without drama.
